My 501 Interpretation

Jeans has always been the timeless piece that all of us look up to. And when we talk about which jean we pick for investment? I bet the answer would be Levi’s. I wore Levi’s since I’m in college and my favorite is still the same pair until today. This season Levi’s back with the same great fit but in a lighter-weight shrink-to-fit twill and bold colors like red, blue, green, chino & white. So if you bored with light or dark blue jean, now you got more colors option ;)

Talking about how these brand get such large number of “groupies”, let me share you the story of the birth of an American Icon. The Levi’s 501 button fly jean was born on May 20, 1873. Time Magazine’s proclaim that it’s “the fashion item of the 20th century”. From presidents to movie stars, farmers to fashion icons, this jeans has been defined by the people who wear them. It’s express individuality and universality. It’s the ultimate expression of personal style.

This year is the 140th years of Levi’s 501 and since February through May they’re having one campaign called “501 interpretation” to celebrate the range of expressions of unique personal style from around the world. Levi’s fans (young and old) can join the movement by tagging photos of themselves in their 501 jeans with #501 on Twitter and Instagram or by uploading directly at www.LEVIS501.com. Cool thing about this campaign is Levi’s team will select photos that best represent to live in a limited edition “Book of 501” as a legacy for the future! Dope eh?!

Knowing this, I felt challenged to show my 501 interpretation. And here they are.. For me my 501 shorts is like my second skin.. I can wear it to some cool events during night, I can wear it during my casual day and I can wear it forever.. These are my interpretation. What’s yours?

Inacraft report

Several snaps from my last visit to Inacraft, one of my most favorite exhibition. I think us, as Indonesia young generation should appreciate our local creation by using our local product. Trust me you'll find unique pieces there from fashion items to handicrafts.. We should put Inacraft in our agenda besides other events like Brightspot, Trademark, etc.. So i'll see you next year? =))

Wakai Mad Show

Late post of Wakai Mad Show at Senayan City. Just like the title, they called it mad because the models are the unusual models like a pregnant woman, a gymnast, a bald woman, twin sisters wearing special designed Wakai shoes.

My kind of warrior

I dedicate today's post in commemorate to one of Indonesia women's hero named KARTINI. I believe most of my readers knows Kartini, she's the pioneer of women's rights in Indonesia. For her, women should have their freedom to study and she's one of the reason how us Indonesia women can express our voice nowadays. So i've been thinking to share you guys my kind of (fashion) warrior and here they are.
The founder of Nikicio label, I adore her ability to keep on designing timeless pieces. She said “ i want to challenge the notation of a fashion world. no trends. no seasons. no fads. my clothes have to be able to be worn & last forever.” And she did it. I have several Nikicio items, and my favorite is my paper dress.. It's not your regular fashion item. It's a fashion statement.
She's the reason why this blog exist. She's not an ordinary woman. Her unique and quirky taste got positive and negative comments. But Diana keep on shining and know she had her own shoe brand called I WEAR UP, which very describe her bubbly personality and she's not forget to give back to the community because for every pair we purchase, IDR 5.000 will goes to scholarship for low-income children. Amazing eh?
The free spirited woman, the brain behind ONLYi. I always enjoy her blog posts because it filled with her beautiful photography, art work and design. Talking about design, she just launched her Kartini collection. You can take a look here. Most of her design have an individual touch of her, which made each piece so personal and precious.
I just post about fbudi pre fall 2013 collection to my blog, i guess i don't need to say much why Felicia is in this list. The high standard of craftsmanship is her strength, a love of texture and textiles enrich the final result. When you know how to appreciate an attainment properly then fbudi is the answer.
I met Iin at the office, when she still working as a fashion editor. Now Iin decided to concentrate to build OJA her accessory brand. For me OJA stands out among other accessory brand because of it's oddity, it's like screaming WEAR ME IF YOU DARE! Haha.. Each piece was made by her own hand.. And her newest collection is Manhattan. A clutch bag made from plastic. The motto is Fight Plastic With Plastic. So cool!!!

I hope by reading this, to all beautiful, nerd, geek, edgy, chic, etc people out there don't be afraid to be yourself, go on to be different, be true to yourself. Speak up! It will bring happiness to your life. Fighting!
